We are excited to announce the selection of six Pilots for Phase II of the Citizen-led renovation (CLR) initiative. Among the selected pilots is the Italian “Comunita’ Energetica Rinnovabile – Castello Green House - Società cooperativa”.

Castello Green House from the Emilia Romagna region in Italy is a cooperative focused on mutual benefits, aiming for environmental, economic, and social gains for its members and local communities. It promotes eco-friendly and participatory renewable energy sources (RES). The cooperative buys and sells energy and environmental goods and services at the best prices for its members to enhance their well-being.

The Project targets energy efficiency and renewable electricity (RES) installation in residential buildings. It aims to improve 9 buildings and involve 11 more for RES production. This includes 511 units (492 residences and 19 commercial spaces), with 320 units in 9 buildings getting both energy efficiency and RES upgrades and 132 units (in 4 buildings) getting only RES upgrades.

The initiative also seeks to improve its services by choosing the best IT tools, engaging new members with diverse energy needs, and learning best practices to expand its reach.

Stay tuned for more updates on the progress of these pilot projects and how they contribute to advancing citizen-led renovations across Europe.
