We are excited to announce the selection of six Pilots for Phase II of the Citizen-led renovation (CLR) initiative. One of the selected pilots is ZuidtrAnt cv-so, an innovative energy cooperative dedicated to advancing the energy transition through a diverse range of technologies.

ZuidtrAnt has been actively involved in numerous projects, including solar roofs, school initiatives, renovation coaching, battery storage, and energy-positive circular hubs. Their current project, Burenwerf, focuses on the renovation of residential buildings in close collaboration with local municipalities. To date, this project has successfully renovated 90 homes and reached 4,600 residential buildings with essential information.

As part of the CLR support service, ZuidtrAnt aims to delve deeper into refining their business model, particularly focusing on reducing connection costs to make their services more accessible to a broader range of citizens. Additionally, they are eager to enhance their understanding of IT tools and methodologies to effectively monitor the impact of their renovations.

The planned extension of the heat network under this project entails a total investment of €3,998,849. This cost is expected to be shared between residents and municipalities, following ZuidtrAnt's existing cooperative model.

Through their participation in the CLR programme, ZuidtrAnt seeks to build on their successes and continue driving forward the energy transition, making sustainable energy solutions more accessible and impactful for their communities.

Stay tuned for further updates on the progress of ZuidtrAnt and other pilot projects as we work together to advance citizen-led renovations across Europe.
