Policies and investments for a sustainable, efficient and secure energy system

As part of the series of sustainable energy financing roundtables, EnEffect, Sofia Municipality and the Center for the Study of Democracy are organizing the conference "Policies and Investments for a Sustainable, Efficient and Secure Energy System", which will give the official start to the public consultations on the Integrated National Plan in the field of energy and climate. The event will be held in a combined face-to-face and online format on November 27 at 9:00 a.m. at Hemus Hotel, Sofia and is organized with the assistance of the Ministry of Energy, focusing on the strategic vision, policies and necessary reforms for implementation of the energy transition. The event will cover a number of topics related to the decarbonization of the Bulgarian economy: from strategic planning and financing mechanisms to energy management in municipalities, reducing energy poverty, creating energy communities, certification schemes and developing skills for the design and construction of zero-energy buildings.

On 28 November, a representative from the Bulgarian pilot Izgrei will be part of a panel session to discuss mitigating energy poverty. In a short presentation, he will deep dive into how energy communities can help combat energy poverty and showcase the citizen-led renovation concept and the first pilot project for energy independence & reducing energy bills.
